Inspiration Behind "Fall in France" Series
I'm always keeping my eyes open for inspiration that I can use for paintings. Lucky for me, I'm a person who is inspired by A LOT, and feels all the feels about EVERYTHING. I think as an artist, my eye is naturally trained to notice color palettes and compositions that pop up in everyday life that most people wouldn't give a second glance. Although I snap pictures of everything in my daily walks to work, or when I'm out to eat, and even in my own home, my biggest source of inspiration comes when I travel. My most recent trip to France was no exception. I came back filled with inspiration, a lot of creative energy, and about 10 pounds heavier from all the croissants, foie gras, baguettes, wine, macarons, escargot, and yeah, I just ate everything in sight....no regrets.
This series was inspired by my trip to France, but also shows my emotions in each individual piece. When I am genuinely happy painting, it's super apparent in each mark made. My brush strokes are more confident, playful, and fun.
